Something new once a week is my hope. This was done recently and I am very proud to call my work. Have a great Turkey Day!
It is today. So excited to see what they have created with my work. You can see more of the portraits on raylavoie.com
So, I was on a site this week called Trendland finding out about all things design and photography when I came upon a story. It was about a photographer named Tomaas, who works out of New York. He had done some really beautiful photos with common objects. They were so beautiful, I had to share them here. Click on the link to see more of what he was able to do with platers and plastic hoses.
So excited to see another great design use of my photo. I took this last month on a shoot with the Ever-talented Courtney Radu. We had a great time being creative and trying new ideas and techniques for these images. The image posted is a result of that experimenting.

So excited that this shot went live today. Props to Courtney, Darla and Jim for making
such an awesome shot for DSW!
Check back often to see more of my collaboration with a truly great company.
So, I could not pass up reposting a really great blog post that Seattle-based photographer Chase Jarvis posted last week. It was a provocative and important post to me. Read and consider it for yourself.
10 Things Every Creative Person (That’s YOU) Must Learn
by Chase on OCTOBER 11, 2011
Here is a list of 10 things I’ve learned the hard way that every photographer, designer, creative–hell, every creative person–should know.
1. Experts aren’t the answer.
The blogs, the teachers, the mentors, the seminars aren’t the answer. They’re not there to tell you exactly what you need to know. If they’re good, then they are there to give you some ideas, some guidelines, or some rules to learn and subsequently break. This isn’t about the expert, it’s about you. In creative pursuits especially…what’s going on inside you is where the answers can be found. Hear what experts say, but don’t always listen to them.
The other 9 are at Chase Jarvis Blog. Read on…
So, I said I would add sound to this blog post and I have finally done it. Slide link is there, too. If you are willing to lose 43 minutes of your day listening to me blather on, here is your chance. Go to Ray As Motivational Speaker Post.
Thanks to all who helped make this event possible.
So, there is this great house in German Village that I got the chance to photograph this summer. It is amazing through and through. The shot to the right is the formal living room and was challenging yet oh so beautiful. For me, there are layers and layers of elements happening throughout the room.
The master bedroom was wonderfully geometric. I think I was able to get a pretty good shot of it, too. The kitchen and sun room are no less amazing. Check out all the rooms in the Architecture section of my web site.
Here is a little clip to start your weekend. Thanks all for making this an amazing week!
